Sound, basic introduction to these instruments.
If you're thinking of taking up the violin/viola and know nothing, then reading this first could save you time searching for the right instrument, and possibly a great deal of money too! It's a little gem; packed full of useful informtion, written in a plain- sometimes humorous- style, with clear diagrams and illustrations. It won't teach you how to play, but it will help you to get the best 'hardware' you can afford, tell you how it should be set up, how to tune it etc. As it says on the tin - essential reading!
