Walking in the Peak District
This book has a good number of walks between 4 and 7 miles. It is well illustrated by maps and easy to find extensions to make the walk longer. A really good starter book for any one walking in the Peak District.
Peak Performance
Pathfinder guides have been around for a while and, despite the trend towards sat-navs, they have the edge as they don't need satellite links or batteries and they give clear and concise descriptions of the various routes.
My only, fairly minor, criticism - well, suggestion, actually - is that a 'ring-bound' version would allow the route to be permanently displayed instead of having to constantly search for the appropriate page.
Otherwise, the perfect partner for peak performance...
Excellent walking guide
There are more then 20 walks in this guide. They are divided into short, medium and long. We walked 3 of the medium walks and found the guide very useful.
The walks are well described and it would be very hard to lose your way, always a worry when you are not familiar with the area! There are also extracts of the Ordance survey maps for the area of the walk.
If we do more walks in other areas of England I wouldn't hesitate to buy other books in this series.
