Doesn't work
This cable will not let my Sony Walkman connect to my computer. It recognises that there's a device attached, but not what it is. No end of installing and re-installing drivers has helped.

It works for me
I have Windows Vista and had no problems synchronising or charging my Sony NWZ-S618F. The price is great, so i'll order a second one as a back-up. Posibly the manufacturer sorted out the glitches experienced by earlier reviewers.

Does what it says on the tin.
When I ordered one of these cables, there was only 1 review which suggested the cable does not work. The review said that the cable only charged the MP3 player but did not sync with the computer. Never the less, due to the very low price compared to the £20 for an original, I took the risk and ordered one.

Sure enough, when the cable arrived, I could charge the MP3 player but synchronisation with computer did not work. I contact the supplier who diagnosed the cable as faulty and replaced it immediately.

The replacement cable worked out of the box. I tried it with both Windows XP and Windows 7 without any problems.
I can therefore recommend this cable and compared to an original cable a true bargain.
