Customer Reviews

Useful4
I don't much care for Office Word 2007 as now I can't spot how to do things I could do before because it is so counter-intuitive. I found using this book quicker than using the 'Help' function in Office. It has a comprehensive index which is essential to quickly find the info you're after and plenty of screen shots. I would recommend this if you feel impatient and frustrated with Word 2007 and the ghastly, clumsy, new 'ribbons'.

Essential for Word 2007 users4
I still don't like Word 2007 but have no choice but to use it. I have a copy of this book next to my desktop pc and it is excellent for quickly finding answers.

Pointless1
Office 2007 is sold on the alleged simplicity of the program and its 'easy to use interface'.

I don't wish to gripe on yet again (see other reviews) about the awfulness of this latest version of Microsoft Office, but the book frankly only emphasised the fact that the program is either plain and simple, (in which case the book is not necessary), or it is not (in which case the claims for the program are misplaced). Either way, the book is on a loser to nothing. It may, for all I know, be a brilliant exposition of this new form of Word.

For me, however, I have managed to get 2003 re-installed (I would have preferred XP) and the book is not necessary and I am passing it on to another less fortunate friend who is stuck with 2007
