Product Description

We dream, we crave, we don't apologise, we run - relentlessly.

A God chaser is someone whose hunger exceeds their reach. A God chaser is a person whose passion for God's presence presses him to chase the impossible in the hope that the uncatchable might catch him. A child chases a loving parent until, suddenly, the strong arms of the father enfold the chaser. The pursuer becomes the captive - the pursued the captor. Paul put it this way: 'I chase after that I may catch that which apprehended me' (Phil.3:12).

Job was a God chaser. He said, 'Oh that I knew where I might find Him!' David was one; he said, 'My soul followeth hard after Thee'. The passionate paths of God chasers can be traced across the pages of history, from Moses the stutterer, David the singer, and Paul the itinerant preacher, to contemporaries like A.W. Tozer, Leonard Ravenhill, and countless others who share one common bond: an insatiable hunger to know their Lord. These are people whose relentless, passionate pursuit of Christ often made them appear foolish in the eyes of others. Yet, having tasted his goodness and glimpsed the invisible, they could be satisfied with nothing less.

Editorial Reviews

Amazon.co.uk Review
In an age of instant gratification and information overload, Tommy Tenney emphasises that "we like things to come quickly, easily, and cheaply--microwave revival". The God Chasers seeks to reach those who hunger for God's manifest presence and whose endurance to boldly pursue Him will lead to heartfelt revival in America's churches. Tenney, a self-proclaimed God chaser, has preached since he was 16 and has toured in mobile ministry for over 17 years in 30-plus states. Through personal accounts of the miraculous, Tenney insists that humility before and intimacy with God are the secret facets to apprehending more of God's glory. While the conservative may argue that God cannot be forced into a linear timeline, Tenney desires to "have God show up" in order to reveal new revelation so that we may be saturated with His presence, arguing that experience supersedes doctrine. If "catching" God is an impossible act, Tenney's passionate heart reveals that being caught by God, is the hope--"you're chasing the impossible, knowing it's possible...the pursuer becomes the pursued". Tenney's writing is sure to birth a new generation of God chasers, anxious to be caught by God Himself. --Jill Heatherly

Cindy Jacobs, Co-founder, Generals of Intercession
'I must warn you, this is a dangerous book. If you are comfortable and complacent and want to stay that way, don't even open its pages!'

Ken Gott, Revival Now!, Sunderland, UK
'The God Chasers is not for the fainthearted, but for those who, in pursuit of God, are willing to die in the process.'

Customer Reviews

Utter nonsence from start to finish.1
What complete claptrap, not worth the 24p 2nd hand currently it is going for. This is one of the worst books in all Christendom.

If you are a Christian who is remotely concerned with truth steer clear, this is Tommy's opiion of truth:
"A true God chaser is not happy with just past truth; he must have present truth. God chasers don't want to just study from the mouldy pages of what God has done; they're anxious to see what God is doing. There is a vast difference between present truth and past truth. I'm afraid that most of what the Church has studied is past truth, and very little of what we know is present truth."

And there you have it, God's truth doesn't stay true for very long - but it goes off and mouldy. As I say - complete nonsence.

Are You Ready to Know Jesus in a Personal Way?5
This book will prepare your heart to seek Jesus in a way you never dreamed. If you are ready for change in your Christian walk get ready this book will bring change. It will impart a hunger for the presence of Jesus Christ in your heart like you always wanted. Tommy shows how to become a God chaser with all of your heart; where nothing else in life comes before seeking the heart of Jesus. I also recommend, A Servant's Heart: Finding Your Spiritual Father by Jason Powers.

Good message, but too repetitive.1
This book does have a very good message, but you can gather this message very clearly within the first two chapters. This book gives you the point then engages in many needless examples and metaphors. If there was a way to buy just the first two chapters it is worth it, but 10 chapters of one central idea contained in many metaphors is not.
