More than 72 patterns cover the range of historical and contemporary dragons, from worms to the shape-changing Drake, and can be used in a variety of mediums. A comprehensive look at the dragon's skeletal structure, scales, and head provides a useful understanding of dragon anatomy. Simple test patterns form the foundation for creating all the included ferocious creatures. An introductory description of dragon types and a survey of dragon lore contextualise this comprehensive guide.

Great Resource
As the title suggests, this book is a great resource of dragon related art work. As an art student I found this book to be very helpful, providing lots of black and white line drawings of dragons for the reader to use as a starting point for thir own creations, and giving examples of how to make your dragon unique and as "life like" as possible. This book also includes a section detailing some famous dragons from around the world, and different types of dragons, to fire the reader's artistic imagination. If you are not of an artistic bent I would not recommend this book as it is intended for artistic use. If however, you are of an artistic nature then i wholeheartedly recommend this book as an invaluable resource and starting point into the fantasy world of dragon art.
user friendly source book
This is a book ment to be used - at the begining of the books ideas for the designs are given. The anatomy of dragons is included so if (unlike me) you have the ability to draw you can either adapt the designs or use them as a base for your own designs. There is also information on different types of dragon and dragon mythology. I can not praise this book enough and will be buying other books by this author.
It's a good image resource.
When I first got this book my first impression was it was bigger and heavier than I expected it to be. I mean it's a really weighty book!!!
Inside I was indeed happily surprised at the variety of line imagery. The written bit at the start of the book provides some brief insight into dragon's through history. Through the inclusion of the fairy dragon the author did make one mistake in reference to the Bee. Scientists and Engineers have indeed now proved what the Bee knew all along, that it is capable of flight! That is not the reason for which I gave this book 4 stars instead of 5.
The book mentioned anatomy of dragons, and I was dissappointed in that it was a very brief section, mostly dealing in text than in pictures. Although spanning 8 pages on the subject it didn't go into nearly anough details, and was far too wordy on what little it had to say on the subject.
If you want dragon anatomy, look else where.
If your looking for inspiring imagery, this is the book for you.
