A starter pack of 4 water plants, ideal for a new pond and excellent for adding to an existing pond. All the plants are in rooted form to save on postal costs. They will require potting or planting on receipt and you will need to buy locally aquatic soil and gravel. Water plant 1: This is a 'lucky dip' type . We have a lot of lily rhizomes which we are not sure of the colour of the flower. Either white, pink, yellow or possible red. Whichever colour they will be beautiful lilies and if you are not too fussed about which colour, these are for you! They grow in waters from 12" (300mm) to 3ft (900mm) and the first year you can expect a few flowers. By the second year there should be at least 6 flowers with more the following year. Pot these into large or XL baskets available from our Amazon Shop. Water Plant 2 - Yellow Iris. This is a magnificent long reed type plant that has beautiful yellow flowers (may/june) and should be planted in a large pot in the margins up to 12" deep or in a boggy area. This plant will reach approx. 1 meter (39")high. Water Plant 3 Variegated Reed or Grass is a superb 'groundcover' plant only growing about 12"/30cm high. It will sit well underneath all the higher plants and will colonise the area planted. It has vaiegated green/yellow reed leaves. You can plant down to 4"/10cm deep in water or in wet boggy ground. Pot these into the small/medium basket. Water Plant 4 - Juncus rush/grass . This is dark green rush with cylindrical leaves. It gives a pond the natural look and grows up to 2ft tall. It can be planted in a boggy area or potted and placed upto 15cm (6") of water. Pot into a small/medium basket.
