The solution for Mac Pro users
This is the current solution for all of us Mac Pro users, after Apple' s decision to abandon iSight production. It' s expensive, however, compared to similar-spec' ed windows offerings - why are we mac users still expected to pay a premium over windows users for what seems to be just a good mainstream webcam? Works ok on the MacOSX, the sound quality is very good and the image quality that is possible with this cam could be very good too, but: Skype drives the cam in a lower resolution and frame rate than the windows version does, and similar comments apply to PhotoBooth (lower than possible resolution and poor auto focus handling). The cam delivers much better IQ when on Windows XP, but I can' t find a way to turn the mic on!! The camera is plug-n-play, no drivers needed, but I would feel more comfortable if it had an on/off button on it... Cam has a very nice design and a smart way to fit any screen, although it has no springs or something to keep it firmly attached.

Fantastic webcam
I only got this web cam today so I may update this review later. First impressions are very good indeed.

I use an Intel based Mac Pro with Leopard. I was a bit miffed to say the least that buying a Mac Pro meant you had very limited options of webcams just because the isight had been discontinued and the descriptions on what the webcams could or couldn't do was misleading. I have recently tried the Ice cam 2. This is an ok cheap webcam but the edges of the image were a bit soft and the image dark. I had to use a third party application galled iglasses to brighten up the image. It worked very well but I thought the image quality was a little poor for the money. I'm happy to say that the Logitech webcam is MUCH better and IS worth the money despite being double the price.

There are hardly any instructions to follow, it is pretty much plug in and go! The camera feels very solid and looks the business. It feels like a quality camera rather than a cheap nasty one. The picture quality is amazing, crisp, clear and bright. The camera adjusts itself automatically to differing lighting conditions and also uses a very quick auto focus system. It can focus on very close subjects as well as far away and it does it quickly and effortlessly.

The colour balance of the camera is excellent, wave goodbye to horrible colour casts! I found the camera to give good results in low light and bright light, it really is streets ahead of anything else I have seen or tried.

It has a fairly weighty stand on it so it isn't so susceptible to being knocked over. I haven't tried it on a laptop screen but it looks like it would cope with it ok.

It has a very wide angle lens compared to others I have seen and used. This is good but if you get close up it can make your nose look a bit big and your ears disappear.

Overall an excellent camera I cannot recommend highly enough, BUY IT!!

Excellent as both a camera and microphone
I had been looking for a web cam with built in Mic to go with my MacMini connected to my main TV in the living room. Fantastic picture quality and sound recorder is very accurate and clear.

Speaking to my parents in South Africa through Skype they can not only hear us sitting 4m away easily without the need of shouting but can read the clock on the wall some 10m away.

Excellent, worth the price tag. Would be good if it had a zoom though...
