Synopsis
This taut, thrilling, and funny Hong Kong production follows the adventures of notoriously hungry detective Ryu Saeba (Jackie Chan) and his female partner, Kaori (Joey Wong), as they search for the daughter of a publishing tycoon. In the process, they become involved in a cruise ship hijacking. The film based on a popular Japanese comic strip.

5 stars for THE STAR of the stars ; - )
Wow! What a strange movie... I'm a big fan of JC and I was very curious to see him as a 'manga character' and in the end I'm satisfied.
This is not a movie... well, better call it animemovie; the special effects, the sounds and the acting, everything is at his extreme. JC is hilarius and brisk as always... it is just unusual to see him chasing girls every minute!
Of special notice: the "street fighter" sequence (JC is dressed like Honda and then as Chun Li... ehm...) and the fighting sequence JC vs Richard Norton
Comic Book Jackie
I have seen this film on video with almost unreadable subtitles, and didn't enjoy it that much - but love this DVD which offers the option to view the film with English dubbing. (I do really prefer Jackie's voice in his more serious action films though!) However, with this DVD you can concentrate on the broad, physical humour without trying to read subtitles at the same time, and my admiration of Jackie Chan as a superb physical comedian has risen greatly. Just watch Jackie's facial expressions - brilliant! As others have said, purists may not like the film as Chinese/Japanese humour can be VERY over the top, but if you view it as a comic book-type film, then you will enjoy it immensely. The end fight between Jackie and Aussie Richard Norton is brilliant - timing is meticulous, but it just looks so natural - and is very funny by the way!! Richard Norton's and Gary Daniels' interviews are very interesting and offer some behind the scenes insights into the making of the film. All in all, love it and recommend it.
ANOTHER GOOD CHAN FILM
This is a good solid Chan film. With great comedy and 3 fight scenes. The film is set on a boat and while Jackie is fighting a bunch of people help them and i like the guy who kills people with his set of cards. It only has 3 fights though. Although i have to say the stick/kung fu fight with Richard Norton at the end is great fun. If you Like Chan you probobly will like this one.
