Smooth Jazz at its ABSOLUTE BEST5
I've actually been following Acoustic Alchemy sinc e they started, and imagine to my surprise when they gave a live concert at my university. The CDs are in no way comparable to their live performance, the magic of their music just cannot be captured on a CD! With one of the founders of Alchemy passed away, the Beautiful Game symbolises a change in their music style, but yet at the same time, it is fantastically Acoustic Alchemy.

A review of a music cd can only be at best mediocre (how do you capture the beauty of Alchemy onto words?) My only advice for anyone who likes smooth jazz is to get this album. You won't regret it :-)

Excellent album - smooth jazz with subtle undertones5
I'd heard of this band some time ago, but never got round to listening to them until recently. I gather this is their first album in some time but for fans it must have been worth the wait. My favourite on the album is Trail Blazer. The excellent opening phrase with it's close harmonies grabs you from the start. Another gem is Jubilation. It took me a week to work out the tempo combination. All in all this is a 'must-have' for all smooth jazz fans.

Refreshment for a jaded soul5
Once a decade something comes along that grabs me. Acoustic Alchemy is that band and the Beautiful game provides me with many uplifting moments and real joy along the congested roads of Britain. Much of the US smooth jazz has become far too smooth
or seems to be an exercise in scales. This album really touches the spot and I cannot recommend it enough.

On the strength of this Im now going to buy AART and hope it is more of the same!
