Product Description

As recent reports suggest, many fewer weddings are now taking place in church. For those that are not having the traditional wedding service, it can be a problem finding suitable material to be read at a civil ceremony. And even some traditionalists like to have something extra read at their wedding lunch or party. This inspiring book offers 70 poems and readings which celebrate love and union - and offer the prospect of a lifetime's shared happiness.

Customer Reviews

entertaining the guests5
We used quotes from this book on our order of service, kept the guests busy....and they loved it so much many took it home instead of the keepsake !. Some moving, and beautiful poetry and quotes. Absolutely ideal inspiration for brides to be. I still browse through my now dog -eared ,tatty copy at times over a coffee...ahhh

Comprehensive and original5
I love poetry and wanted something meaningful to be read at my wedding in the summer. This collection is super - it contains both popular classics and more unusual, quirky verses. I have bought several collections of love poetry in my search for the ideal verse, but needn't have bothered; this was all I needed. Don't be put off by the popularity of this, it is a thoughtful and intelligent collection. My only criticism is the omission of a section from 'The Velveteen Rabbit' which a friend of mine had at a civil ceremony.

some good content2
I'm 25 and have been with my fiance for 6 years. I wanted some readings/poems for friends to read at my wedding which reflect our relationship. I managed to find about 4 good poems in this book, the rest are very old fashioned (some don't immediately make sense) and have a lot of 'thee' and 'thou' words.
