Customer Reviews
A must if you believe you're suffering from hypothyroidism
The title of the book may be a little misleading if weight is not a major concern with your underactive thyroid, as countless other symptoms which you may be experiencing are covered. It is another example of research gleaned by a doctor from many years of patient contact, which is reassuring to both those suffering from years of misery due to undiagnosed hypothyroidism and to all of us who have loved ones whose health and lives we have watched inexplicably decline. Once again thyroid blood tests are called into question and there are many reports of successful treatment for patients once the correct treatment is given following a complete clinical diagnosis. Each chapter is summarised, and there are also suggestions on how to approach a sceptical GP.
the books you MUST read instead:
The MUST-READ book on low thyroid is "Stop the Thyroid Madness", passionate and comprehensive. I also recommend the book "Iodine: Why You Need It, Why You Can't Live Without It" by Brownstein via Amazon.com
Now also recommending the even newer "Why Do I Still Have Thyroid Symptoms?" which explains that if taking natural thyroid still leaves you with a number of symptoms, it is an autoimmune disease, not a primary thyroid problem. Based thoroughly on scientific research, this new book gives the low down on what your doctor never hears at his/her pharmaceutical sponsored education events.
However, the latest miracle cure worth investigating is claimed to be high-dose Vitamin D3 which apparently can cure cancer, heart disease, stroke, diabetes, bone density issues, arthritis, flu, muscle pain, chronic pain, fatigue, seasonal (and other) depression and various autoimmune disorders. Anyone living above the 35th parallel (England runs from the 50th upwards) is highly likely to have a sunshine/vit D deficiency that can also lead to many common symptoms. Those who react badly to Vitamin D and/or sunshine may need the Marshall Protocol.
