Manufacturer's Description
The call of duty needs answering once again, as the blockbusting first person shooter series returns to the modern day. A direct sequel to Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, you now play new character Sgt Gary "Roach" Sanderson. Your commander is "Soap" from the first game as you join a multinational anti-terrorist squad out to stop Russian ultra nationalists.
Watch your squad grow from inexperienced rookies to veteran warriors |
The story mode features an even more varied series of locales than before, including a snowbound mission that starts with a daredevil mountain climb and ends with a high speed snowmobile chase as you make your escape. With other levels set in Afghanistan, Rio de Janeiro and even underwater this has more action than a dozen Hollywood blockbusters.
But that's just the single player mode - the multiplayer is even more ground-breaking than before, with new co-op options and even more rewards and perks for competitive play.

Worth the wait
I picked this up last night at midnight from the place i work (game) and have been playing it ever since , it is outstanding. Graphically it is on another level to nearly all games out at that monent. It looks great on an HD tv but m sure it would look excellent on a normal tv. The single player took nearly six hours for me to complete which is quite short, it does not disapoint being all action from start to finish in a very nice variety of locations. There is a point in the story which is simply put the gaming moment of this year for me ( i know that makes no sense but when you arrive at it you will know). The only flaw is there is no Co-op story mode but that is made fine by the actual Spec-ops mode which is co-op and has a variety of missions, which are so good to play with a friend. I tried firing up the multiplayer earlier on this morning and already theres a load of people playing it and with good reason its great also i would say its better than in the original because of all the small difference that have been made, they add up to something big i feel.
Overall if you own a 360 you must buy this and experience the best game of the year.
Absolutely Epic!
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is the best COD to date, everything great about COD4 is back but loads of new features have also been included. The campaign continues 5 years after the COD4 ending and see more movie-style moments and an amazing variety of missions, environments and gameplay styles. The constant variety in the level design and actual environments keep it fresh and ensures it doen't feel like more of the same everytime, the inclusion of vehicles and different styles of gameplay (such as climbing a snowy mountain and driving a jeep into the back of a moving plane) make you really feel the developers put a lot of effort into ensuring you enjoy the game. The addition of Spec-Ops is a nod toward Hoarde mode and Firefight in the other leading FPS games on the market however the tie-in with the various campaign levels from COD4 and MW2 really stand it apart from anything else, once again the multiplayer is superb, killstreaks, perks and challenges and back again but improved and better than ever before. The wealth of options is sure to keep you entertained for months and the constant rewards heaped on you ensure you will have a lot of fun online.
Worth every penny - and yes - it meets all the hype in the world !
This is gaming at its absolute best. In HD is mind-blowing; the graphics incredible and the sound effects awesome. The maps are huge, vast and detailed and this game will (like its predecessor) provide months and months of top quality gaming.
After the wait, the hype and the queueing at midnight, I'm pleased to say it was all worth it. To anyone luckily enough not yet to have discovered the awesomeness of the COD games then buy in the knowledge you're about to enter a new world of incredible game play; to those already familiar - why haven't you bought this game yet ??
The "sad" thing about this game is that it blows away other "similar" titles, kinda spoils you, and sets a very high benchmark for future titles to attain.
