Editorial Reviews
CD Description
'Believe' is the seventh album by Welsh cross-over opera superstar Katherine Jenkins. Renowned for her heavenly and original interpretations of opera and pop standards, this effort is produced by David Foster (Josh Groban, Michael Buble) and sees the songstress take a more mature and bold approach for this release. Covering more contemporary tracks such as Evanescence's 'Bring Me To Life' and Sarah Maclachlan's 'Angel', shows off Jenkins' versatility and talent as an artist.Includes the title track featuring Andrea Bocelli.
Customer Reviews
One word: WOW.
I've only just started to get in to Katherine Jenkins' stuff and music along the more classical/vocal range because I have got really fed up with pop, r'n'b, urban etc as it's all got so repetitive and boring. Most of the stuff I was listening to suddenly started to sound all too familar- there was nothing unique about any of it. So I started having a look round for something different and amongst what I found was Katherines' 'Sacred Arias' album which I really enjoyed. Then I purchased 'Believe' this week, and if 'Sacred Arias' impressed me then 'Believe' left me gob smacked. It is simply stunning. Katherine has a beautiful voice and the album is a breath of fresh air compared to what I had, until recently, been listening to. All the tracks are great but my favorites at the moment have to be 'Bring Me To Life' (this is a version of the Evanescence song of the same name and it sent shivers up and down my spine), 'Who Wants To Live Forever' (talk about pull at the heart strings- I was listening to the album on my way to work one morning and when this track had finished it was all I could do to stop myself from crying while walking down the road). 'No Woman , No Cry' and 'Se Si Perde un Amore' are also two lovely tracks. As a result of this album, I will be looking to purchase the rest of the albums that Katherine Jenkins has brought out so far and I can't wait to hear what she pulls out of the hat next. It is also thanks to her that I am now adding to my constantly growing collection of what I now call real music. I have found what I was looking for. Cheryl who? Katherine Jenkins has the XXX Factor and is the real talent in this country. Keep up the excellent work Katherine, I look forward to the next one.
Breathtaking
I've been a fan of Katherines for a while now and have all her previous album releases - this is her first under a different recoring label having produced the requisite 6 albums agreed under her first contract.
This album feels slightly fresher than some of her previous releases - it has some truly beautiful songs on it - I love Bring Me To Live and I Believe. There are also some well known cover versions which lend themselves wonderfully to Katherine's style such as Till There Was You and Angel, and Parla Piu Piano which is outstanding.
This album will be sure to please all us fans of Katherine out there - dissapointed though to see her Best of Album receiving more publicity and TV advertising than this newly released album of new songs - this one offers a much better reflection of how Katherine has grown as an artist.
better than ever
My ` Believe` cd was posted out to New Zealand on the 25th of oct(from Amazon) ,it arrived in my post box on the 31st Nov.-great work Amazon .On running it through I thought am I going to like this ? On playing it a second time I thought wow! and katherine gets better each time it is played ,what an amazing talent she is .I was worried David Foster would not realise the special skills Katherine has and he would try to Americanise her.
The tracks are amazing and of course ` I Believe ` is superb but also the none classical tracks like the wonderful No Woman, No cry are truly exceptional. Katherine goes from strength to strength all the time . I have all Katherines albums and dvd`s she is the best, a wonderful voice and talent .
