Customer Reviews
Hay this is good! :-)
Being a fan of Men at Work, I bought this and other Colin Hay cds. This one is great. Hay really does demonstrate well his vocal, songwriting and guitar ability on this cd. There are some very moody (but good) tracks such as 'Don't wait up' and 'Maggie' as well as more upbeat numbers like 'My Brilliant Feat' and 'Going Somewhere'. He's seems to be able to tell a story with each song. I also love 'Wayfaring Sons'. Why doesn't this guy tour in the UK?! Highly recommended.
An immense album
After hearing a couple of his tracks on 'Scrubs' I instantly took note of them. So taking a risk on the album I bought it, but it was worth it as it is an amazing album! It's filled with many deep tracks, most featuring just Hay and his guitar. The stand outs for me are 'Beautiful World', 'Brilliant Feat' and 'Maggie' the last being about an old love who has passed away, a trully heartfelt song. My favourite track though is 'Waiting for my Real Life to Begin' which is a song which seems to sum up how some people look at life.
This is a great album, and considering Mr. Hay has 6 more I'm sure they are as consistently good as this. Buy it!
