GRRRL POWER3
The first thing you might notice about this album is that each track sounds eerily similar to the last. But, considering the fact that track one, Eating Toothpaste, is an energetic riproarer of a grrrl rock song, it doesn't seem to matter too much that you can expect pretty much the same from the rest of the album. Bratmobile's sound is typical of the riot Grrrl sound (think snappy 90s punk with female vocals) but it lacks the edge of, say, Le Tigre or Sleater Kinney. Listening to this album you may feel as though the band have perfected one style and become a bit too comfortable with it. Don't expect many surprises between tracks one and fourteen. A bit like The Donnas, really. On the upside, Bratmobile are the quintessential Girls With Balls - this is ideal warm-up material for a messy night out. All you need now is the sex and drugs...

'Eating Toothpaste' was the first Bratmobile song i heard... and after that... i was hooked. Upon buying the album i was more than amazed... the songs are not only catchy but they're thoughtful too. After hours of dancing around to this album... I can honestly say it's worth buying.
