The Manifestation
A band that had escaped my attention somehow, until now that is. I have purchased a few albums, but this one takes things to a whole new level for me. Less "song" orientated that some of their other work - this is a 45 min CD that contains only 2 tracks. It is something to immerse oneself in. shimmering acoustic guitars, chants, bells, drones, eastern style drumming. I had heard this band described as modern psychadelic folk, but doesn't give a full idea at all. Six Organs of admittance has have a kind of rare, almost luminous, mysticism. This particular record is very meditative & profound. And as if that isn't enough, on the 2nd track David Tibet of Current 93 performs (very surreal) vocals. Excallent & well worth picking up.
