Product Description

One of America's biggest emo bands follow up the success of2001's eponymously-titled album (aka 'Bleed American'). A darker, more mature and more diverse set than that album, 'Futures' nevertheless features the Jimmy trademarks of roaringguitars, angst-ridden lyrics, singalong pop melodies and stadium rock attitude. Produced by Gil Norton (Pixies, Foo Fighters), it includes the single 'Pain'.

Review...?5
This is my favourite album of all time. Even though some of the songs are slow and less "rock"-the lyrics are fantastic. Such meaning so simply expressed; wheras on the same album there are songs that make you wanna rave like a loony. I love it. It doesn't come any better than this.

More mature Jimmmy5
As Bleed American was such a hard act to follow I would admit to being initially slightly underwhelmed by Futures on the first couple of listens. However if you give it a chance it's appeal grows to the extent that you're beginning to think that maybe it could even be better than it's predecessor. Even the bonus tracks are excellent, and the bonus CD versions of them are really interesting pared down versions. In short it's terrific.

Bright Futures5
This is only the second Jimmy Eat World CD I've bought, and I was expecting the upbeat, pop success of the Bleed American CD. I was, happily, disappointed. The word 'deep' is a cheap, unworthy description of the amazing, brilliant new lyrics by Jim Adkins. I'm amazed at his courage in writing songs that are obviously of such painful and private content. Bravo, Jim! It's impossible to explain the genius of this CD, except to just listen to it yourself and get lost in the brilliant mixture of lyrics and driving rhythms. It's a wonderful, heartfelt piece of music.
