brilliant
Beautiful voice and wonderful poetic lyrics.just PLEASE don't say things like ' a 'prettier' (like that matters??) more talented joni mitchell' what a stupid, crass and idiotic comment. Joni is incredible and stellar and sublime in her own right. Try writing several hundred songs and recording twenty something albums full of honesty and insight and then tell me how much talent you need you dumb,ignorant fool..

Clucking Brilliant
How come not more people have picked this up? Some of the songs on this album are the best things I have heard in years. The multilayered vocals in Easy to Be Around are sublime; the poetry of Turnaround Road brings a lump to my throat; and just the realisation of ideas is brilliant. Every one of these songs sounds exactly as though it is exactly as Diane Cluck wants it to sound (does that make any sense?), you know when you think someone has had a great idea but they just haven't managed to achieve it, that doesn't happen here at all. Not wanting to say it sounds like anything because it doesn't really, but the closest thing I can think of is Moon Pix by Cat Power.

why is she practically unknown!?!
This album has some stunning songs, most notably half a millions miles from home and easy to be around. I dont think (as the previous reviewer did), that she is 'a prettier, more talented version of joni mitchell', as her style of songwriting is quite different. This album is quite minimal in instrumentation, just the way I like it - voice and guitar, and her playing is both rhythmic and innovative. i highly reccomend this CD!
