Good Things Come In Small Packages5
Purchased due to the fact that it appeared on my recommendations list on this here site, I must be honest and say that I didn't have a great deal of hope for this as it was a real impulse buy. 5 months later this is probably the most enduring album of the year so far.

The formula is simple and astonshingly effective. The EP has songs which although obviously steeped in a slightly alternative mindset have you humming along. There's a dreamy sense about them but there are hooks here that simply seduce into revisiting time and again. "Oh MJ", the first single off the album, is something of an oddity in that it doesn't leap out as of the strongest tracks upon first listen yet it grows and grows with the cyclic conclusion leaving you wanting more. "Lovers Who Uncover" is a much more straightforward catchy pop song with some nice harmonies. Best of all is "Face The Facts" contianing the most irresitible stop/start chorus and inexplicably not yet a single. It has a gentle summer vibe to it and proves that there is real depth to this album.

The band have had many comparisons although some I really don't quite feel are accurate. There is a touch of The Shins and Belle & Sebastian about them and if you like those you'll probably like this too. It is only 28 minutes long but perhaps that's part of its charm. It doesn't outstay its welcome and is high quality throughout. There isn't a bad song on it. Buy this as these Little Ones deserve to be big.

Brilliant5
I saw these guys play a short warm up set for The Boy Least Likely To at London's Scala and was blown away by not just by their brilliant pop tunes but the exuberance and joy they express through their music. Wonderful attitude and wonderful music. This CD is just brilliant. Cha Cha Cha is one of those pop songs you used to buy on 7" and play over and over and over and over again, The sort of tune that seems to have been around for ever. Words are not enough to describe how brilliant this is, that is what the music is for.

Wonderful Melodic Pop The Shins Would Be Jealous Of5
I bought this album on import directly from the Little Ones after reading a favourable review back in July or August last year, and it still remains one of my favourite mini-albums. It kicks off with "Let Them Ring The Bells", an excellent opener with a drifty dreamy chorus. The album then just keeps impressing. Recent single "Oh MJ!" has a cracking summery feel to it, while "Lovers Who Uncover" is a brilliant upbeat dancey number. This will not disappoint anyone who enjoys the sound of The Shins or Rooney. Buy this and you will thank yourself (and The Little Ones!). Do it - they should be the sound of everyone's summer.
