Listmania!
Everything for Indie 2007 looks brilliant because of........
BrianstormBrianstorm by Arctic Monkeys
Buy new: £0.02 / Used from: £0.01
Brainstorm is ferocious and thunderous with battering drums and finger bleeding guitar strumming which never seems to let up. A welcome return boys!
AngelaAngela by Blood Arm
Angela is bittersweet & melodic with a Franz Ferdinand esque which halfway through explodes in a clash of instruments. 'I miss you like a nuclear bomb', what a weird yet ingenious comparison!
BonesBones by Killers
Buy used from: £0.01
Bones is surreal and somewhat spooky because it's incredibly eccentric, not to mention the video. Nevertheless a fantastic number!
Everything Is Average NowadaysEverything Is Average Nowadays by Kaiser Chiefs
Buy new: £1.44 / Used from: £0.01
As Blur would say 'Modern Life is Rubbish', which is a bit of a misconception, The Kaiser's consider life as 'average' which just about sums it up. A cracker of a tune!
Men's NeedsMen's Needs by The Cribs
Buy used from: £18.62
I could never get into The Cribs, so upon hearing this on nme, I was surprised to see it was them. There's nothing special or clever about this, it just has the beats & rhythmn's in the right places
On CallOn Call by Kings Of Leon
Buy new: £1.56 / Used from: £2.98
On Call is less drug influenced (not necessarily a good thing) & not as catchy or foot tappingly infectious as their previous material, but in turn this is decent, mature rock & devoid of profanities
Spit at StarsSpit at Stars by Jack Penate
Buy used from: £2.75
Spit At Stars is a refreshing slice of indie. It's catchy without being corny and Jack Penate is amusing to watch with his eccentric jiving
I'm Not SorryI'm Not Sorry by Pigeon Detectives
Buy new: £3.99 / Used from: £1.38
There's definitely a Strokes tinge going on here with the lead singers pleasantly droning voice. The Pigeon detectives are an exciting premise and worth watching out for.
Golden SkansGolden Skans by Klaxons
Buy used from: £0.99
How do categorise The Klaxons? Well, they are certainly indie orientated but with new rave, electronica & punk thrown in. I couldn't understand their concepts before. I do now! This is blinding tune!
Stay the NightStay the Night by Ghosts
Buy new: £4.99 / Used from: £0.86
Is anyone inclined to agreed this could be a Housemartins song? This is ridiciously catchy and radio friendly.
