Product Description

'Want to look like a Mod? Pose like a Mod? Dance like a Mod? THIS IS THE BOOK YOU NEED! This is the NEW Mod look, the ageless Trans-European look that takes Mod back to the continent from where it first emerged in the Sixties. This is MOD in the Twenty-First Century'. --- Pete Townshend. This rare collection of stunning photographs provides a sensitive portrayal of Britain's Mod community from the past decade and a unique insight into the diversity of the contemporary Mod scene. With an introduction by Paolo Hewitt and an interview with DJ Rob Bailey of the New Untouchables, these pictures capture the essence of being Mod.

Review
Photographer Horst A. Friedrichs captures a cross-section of those who are in thrall to all things stylishly 1960's in I'm One: 21st Century Mods, revealing a thriving British subculture that embraces the fashion, music and modes of transport of the era but with a contemporary slant. As one aficionado puts it, 'The past is over but the spirit of Mod never dies'. --Metro London 26th August 2009

A mix of sharp suits, green Parka jackets, soul music and scooters, the Mod movement... is still thriving. It's a credit to the photographer that everything looks authentic. --Flipside, October 2009

AMAZING BOOK5
I've bought the Book .What a beautiful photographed Book ! I really loved it, as it captures many faces, looks and frames that well represent the whole Mod culture.

Souvenir3
Some quotes and many pictures, pictures are well made but it's just a touristic attempt of depicting the mod scene...also the effort is made by not many sessions...and some choices are quite questionable...I guess that a better book could be made by choosing between the tons of pictures on facebook...where u can also feel where the ACTION is... and perceive better the always escaping style of the "hip" crowd!
it's the basic difference between the real thing and a souvenir...
I liked Rob Bailey words on the preface...but cannot pass Paolo Hewitt's very own and personal "view" of the history of the mod movement...
