Rubbish!2
The Sumvision Cyclone Micro Upscaling Media Player HDMI plays AVI's VOB's mp3's and most jpeg's OK. But even though I connected mine via a decent HDMI cable to my Full HD TV, I did not find the picture quality that good.

But whilst it played some jpeg photos OK, it did not play others. Instead, it only displayed half the photo with a band of coloured lines across the bottom half! And there is no help menu or anything in the PDF manual (supplied on a minidisc) to explain what might be causing this.

There is NO support at all for this device from Sumvision either!

But apart from that, my main complaint is with the remote, which is very awkward to use if you have any finger nails, as the buttons are not touch sensitive at all so you have to press them down quite firmly for them to work.

I found the menu system a pain too - although unlike the on Western Digital TV HD 1080P Media Player, you do not have to wait for the Sumvision to rebuild any index before you can browse through your media lists. But it's quuite slow going having to keep pressing the up and down and across buttons to get to the media you want to play, particularly as the buttons are so awkward to press! And you can't just press the return to go back! Instead you have to press the left arrow to get to the back function and then you have to press the OK button. Ugh!

Conclusion: OK if you have no finger nails, you don't expect to be able to navigate very quickly through the menus and you don't need any technical support! Otherwise not so good. I'll be returning mine and looking for an alternative option.

Excellent value4
I ordered two of these Sunday 3rd January 2010 just before the worst snow most of the UK has experienced in years, with most areas being snowbound for a couple of days. It was delivered lunchtime 6th January. How did they do that? Excellent!

Opened the box, made the connections and err, well, it just worked. Childs play realy.

A simple and easy to use product, very intuitive and such a tiny piece of hardware. It was dwarfed by the drive cady I chose to test it with.

I'm realy pleased with this.

a great little box5
plays AVIs/MP3 well - shame no MKV playback, but for the price that is ok.

The LEDS are intensely bright - I had to stick some sticky tape over them !

Good value.
