Synopsis
Millions of people travel on London's tube every day, yet we usually give our fellow passengers only a cursory glance. But each one of these nameless passengers has their own story to tell. At Notting Hill, the mysterious secretary, harbouring her secrets, travels to work; at Highburyand Islington, Adam has a sudden change of heart; and at Holborn, a disastrous reunion is about to take place...With her characteristic mix of compassionate humour and biting realism, this vintage collection of stories is Maeve Binchy at her very best.

Customer Reviews
Good collection of short stories
Even though this collection was written in the 70s it hasn't dated. Human beings are still the same. Men change their minds about the women they are with, and women change their minds about their men. Characters have revelations and epiphanies, and interesting experiences out of the ordinary. There are disastrous reunions and blissful meetings. This is an excellent book to read while commuting as most of the stories can be read in 15-20 minutes. This was my first experience of Maeve Binchy and I shall certainly be reading more of her books.
Great as always Maeve
As with all Maeve Binchy Books this was great. I recommend it to anyone that has read and enjoyed Maeve's books before. Light reading and takes you out of your world in to someone elses.
A wonderful collection of short stories
Each one of these gems is better than the rest. Binchy is a true story teller. Not only will she have you hooked, she'll have all your friends and family hooked too. Her quirky, well-written stories are having a long, overdue chat with a good friend. Classic.
