Guaranteed to make you cry. --Sunday Express
Synopsis
Dear Claire, I had a stressful weekend. It would be nice to come home and not be made to feel guilty. I hope school was interesting. There's some of the chicken (which was very good, by the way) left over. See you for breakfast. I want to talk to you about something. Mom. Beautifully told through notes left on their kitchen fridge, this is an intimate portrait of the relationship between a hard-working mother and her teenage daughter. Stunningly sad but ultimately uplifting, it is about being a 'good mother' or a 'good daughter', and is a reminder of how much can be said in so few words, if only we made the time to say them.
Customer Reviews
How do we manage without the fridge?
I read this book in about 2 hours, and really loved the way it's written and laid out. The pages seemed to whizz by. In this busy life that we lead we do leave notes on the fridge door and this was reflected brilliantly along with how difficult modern life is, to actually catch up with news with other members of our family. Loved it!!
A book that can be read in 15 minutes!
I bought this book based on reviews I have read, hoping for an insight into the relationship between mother and daughter who are like passing ships. Unfortunately, if you read this book you will realise that some pages only contain one sentence and sometimes, that isn't worth reading. This book lacked any real detail and would have been much better if it wasn't solely based on the notes. I read this book in 15 minutes and felt that it was a waste of money. This book won't make you cry, it will make you wonder why you paid for it.
Superb
Firsty i would like to say that this book was only a small novel but i read it within 20 minutes! I could not put it down - it made me laugh, smile, cry and left me thinking about the story for days afterwards!
I love the way it is written and would highly recommend to anyone!
