spoilt main character
The other reviews on this site misled me to read this book. It's quite nicely written and a page turner, hence two stars but ultimately it's about a spoilt main character with lovely children, an adoring husband who goes and has an affair with a creep for no reason whatsoever except she's a bit bored and gets away with it. If Sadie was a bit more miserable we might understand it, but she's just a bit ground down like all mothers. The ending was incredibly disappointing with no pay off. Big disappointment
Insightful, sexy and fun!
At the start of this book, I was expecting pretty standard 'chick lit', but by the end it had became much more, and I was finding it hard to put it down.
Most mums with young children will be able to identify with parts of Sadie's character, and will find themselves nodding, laughing, and possibly even crying. Although I didn't particularly agree with some of her actions, I could at least understand where she was coming from, and what pushed her.
I also enjoyed her relationships with her sisters and friends, which brought us more characters to identify with.
With some unexpected twists, and a believable ending, Lucy Diamond is a fun, sexy author, and I'm looking forward to her next offering.
It's a gem
This is a novel for anyone who's wondered if the grass is greener on the other side. It's about Sadie - a woman with a nice bloke and two kids, who is having a bit of an Is-this-it? moment (let's face it, we've all been there...) and starts telling a few lies to spice up her life. The lies start off innocently enough but before long Sadie is tangled up in them, and life suddenly becomes very difficult.
This is a funny, sexy read, with lots of good one-liners and a page-turning plot. Well worth a read.
