Synopsis
Skilful and aggressive, Gerrard has a knack of scoring spectacular goals for club and country. A boyhood Liverpool fan, growing up on Merseyside, Gerrard is living the dream of playing for his team. Having emerged through the club's youth academy he made his debut for the Reds in November 1998 at the age of 18. Now Captain of Liverpool FC, and recently voted the Liverpool Supporters Player of the Year by some margin, Gerrard signed a new four-year contract with the club in summer 2005 to the relief of Liverpool supporters and went on to lead his side to Champions League victory. Stepping on to the international stage in 2000, Gerrard is now one of the most exciting talents in the English game. Combining commitment, vision and indefatigable energy he has played a crucial role in the England set up in recent times, and will always be remembered for his goal in the famous World Cup qualifying game against Germany in September 2001. This is unique insight into the player who has already donned the England armband and is tipped to become a regular fixture as England skipper in the future.

A waste of space on your bookshelf
Dear Amazon. I need an option for zero stars to apply to this book. Not only does it fail to provide any insight into Gerrard as a player, person, or his views on other players, clubs, or football in general in this country, but the writing style is truely awful. Stilted and repetitive, I ended up giving up after a couple of chapters. His fans deserve something better.
Stephen Gerrard - For Club & Country
Thinking this was the official autobiography was dissappointed with the content being more relative to explaining each season of football but not truly from Stevie's point of view but from quotes from papers etc. Still a good introductory read but wanted to know more from Stevie's point of view.
