Helped me keep things civil
This is an excellent guide, providing your circumstances are not too complicated. It was easy to use, it would have got 5* if it had diferentiated between Scottish and English/Welsh law in a clearer fashion - I kept finding myself following bits that I later found out were for the Scottish readers. However a highlighter pen soon sorted this out!
This has managed to keep things civil - in fact almost 'nice' - between myself and my (ex)husband, and I haven't noticed any problems with our two children either. Keeping solicitors out of it for as long as possible does make it better (and cheaper!), although I found I needed some legal help at the end when it came to changing the deeds to the house, etc.
Saves hundreds in legal fees!
I chose this guide over the £350 an hour rate charged by my local solicitor - and no doubt saved over s thousand! I divorced just with the help of this practical guide! Very straightforward and simple - that is only if your circumstances are not too complicated and you agree on most of the terms.
