Glorious beaches, world-class windsurfing spots and the famous volcanoes are covered in detail, as are the stunning visitor attractions created by influential Lanzarotean artist César Manrique. The guideÂ’s hand-picked accommodation and eating recommendations cover all the main resorts and inland villages, revealing plenty of hidden gems, such as tucked-away gourmet restaurants, beautiful coastal villas and charmingly rustic hotels. All are indicated on a series of useful maps. With a full-colour section packed with suggestions for things to do and see, from scenic hikes to quirky fiestas, youÂ’ll never be stuck for ideas.

Customer Reviews

Great guide, worth every penny5
As you'd expect from Rough Guides, this book is very thorough, and full of brilliant advice.

We booked our holiday to Lanzarote with accommodation included but wanted to explore the island on our own once we were there. Lanzarote Directions was really, really useful! Enjoyable and easy to read, too. There's so much more to Lanzarote than the obvious places that the standard tours take you to, and this book helped us find all sorts of interesting things.

Next time we'll stay at one of the villas recommended in the book - some of them sound like real finds - and do everything independently.

very useful book!5
Took this book on our second visit to Lanzarote - and wished we'd had it first time round! It was very helpful and much more informative than the guide we used before.

Great restaurant info. We discovered some really nice new spots.

The Fuerteventura chapter gave us just enough in the way of ideas for us to plan a quick side trip over there. We had fun but now understand why there's only the one Fuerte chapter in the book - Lanza is just SO much nicer (sorry Fuerte fans!!!)

Fantastic - we bought this on impulse and it made our trip5
We chose this Lanzarote guidebook as it seemed much fresher than the others (we already know the island a bit). We're SO GLAD we did - it took us to loads of amazing places we'd never have found by ourselves, including some very pretty villages and some really good restaurants and wineries. The chapter on Fuerteventura was useful too, as we spent a couple of days over there.

We'd recommend this book to anyone. It opened our eyes to a whole new side of Lanzarote and we enjoyed our trip so much we're going to book three weeks next time!
