Customer Reviews

Only iPhone compatible unit currently. Rubbish packaging4
I was on the point of sending this unit straight back, as the packaging -- which was pretty poor anyway -- said iPod series Compatible, with pictures of three different iPods, just in case you didn't know what an iPod looked like. However, on the back, on a white sticky label, it did say iPHONE DELUXE RADIO ...ION) FOR APPLE iPHONE.
Plugging it into the car and the iPhone, it worked straight out of the box, without giving me the customary 'this is not made for iPhone' message. This is contrary to another Reviewer's experience, and may suggest there's been a shipping confusion at some point - an easy mistake to make given the quality of the packaging.

As far as the signal is concerned, it was a good, strong signal by comparison with other units, and the fact that (unlike the Liquid FM) it goes up in .1 MHz increments, rather than .2, meant it was fairly easy to find a space, right near the bottom of its range. When I switched the device off, I discovered there was pirate radio broadcasting on that range, and the iPao Car Plus (as the packaging styles itself) had nicely drowned it out.

As with other units of this kind, there's always a bit of whine and whistle when you aren't in ideal conditions, but the volume is so loud compared to the Liquid FM model that this really isn't a problem.

For the rest, this is a deeply unsexy unit, despite the pictures of a Rolls Royce and a BMW Z4 on the packaging. The Chrome look plastic buttons don't look like they'll last that long, and the whole design is unappealing.

Why 4 stars, then? Because, unlike everything else on the market at the time of writing, this actually works with the iPhone. And it only costs £15, and gets delivered the next day. The Liquid FM Deluxe unit I bought when I got the iPhone cost £75, and never, ever worked satisfactorily, even in ideal conditions.

If you want it, buy it. But do make sure they've sent you the right one.
Oh, and chuck out the packaging as soon as you're sure it works.

iPhone Deluxe FM Transmitter - Apple iPhone4
Don't know where they get the "Deluxe" title from! Except, yes it does have tacky pictures of a Rolls Royce and BMW Z4 on the packaging.

Plugged it in, tuned it in, connected iPhone and.... "This product is not compatible with Apple iPhone"

Mark up another one for mis-picking at the warehouse.

Disappointed, not happy - now begin the long and laborious task of sorting the mess out.

Well, KMS responded very quickly and put the correct item in the post which arrived today. Plugged it in and it worked beautifully! The packaging was exactly the same, there was no little white sticker, even the bar code was identical in every digit!

Don't know how they can tell them apart in the stocking location? But I am now very happy with the product and the quick response of KMS. 4 Stars.
