Customer Reviews

Good competent way to add N Wireless to existing laptop4
Overall pleased with the product. Install was simple and both reception and speed are definitely better than with laptop's built in G wireless however within my building which has 1-1.5 foot thick walls actual range of signal is not much better than G which was a slight disappointment given claimed range, but I guess I'm testing in worst possible scenario.

Make sure to pay attention to whether you need a standard Cardbus (wider) or this narrow/long 'Express Card' for your laptop, almost caught me out ordering the right one. Unfortunately my laptop also supports the wider 'Express Card' versions which in the case of this adaptor means there is room for it to move sideways in the slot as no gap filler/blanking plate is supplied with this adaptor (don't know if any others do, or if Dell laptop just has weird slot choice)

Has meant I've had to apply sellotape over the entrance to the rest of the slot width to fix this, which isn't so neat.

Only other complaint is that windows can take a while to use and start searching for the wireless network when it comes out of standby when using this Express Card, but that's likely this laptop/win xp fault.

Worth noting that there are now some really tiny stubby N wireless USB dongles that barely stick out of the port, so if you want a smoother outline to your laptop and have the port to spare then that might be an alternative to consider for the same price or likely less.

On my laptop all of the black section of the card sticks out of the side of the laptop, so please note you will have 2-3cm of this card sticking out from whichever side your laptop's Express slot is located.

Does exactly what it says on the tin4
Got this sent through in super time - simple plug and play once you've got it seated in the slot correctly - the installation CD took no time at all. Great reception and saves knocking about a USB stick in a laptop.

Buy, buy, buy5
