About the Author
Carla Barboza Pinto, who has a background in media and advertising, was brought up in a food-loving family. Her mother inherited all the culinary aptitude of Carla's grandmother and her father runs a gourmet club called Babette's Friends. From these two masters of cuisine, Carla has formed her own style, but it is mainly from her parents and their recipes that this book was created.

Brazilian Cookbook customer review
I love this book. It's well presented with colour photos and easy-to-follow recipes. I am English with a Brazilian partner and although my partner and friends hadn't heard of some of the dishes, they loved the food! There are 3 Fejoada recipes, but none seem to represent the ones I've tried in Brazilian restaurants and my partner and her friends say they are not like they know either, but I haven't made them yet and they certainly sound delicious! I highly recommend it.

good flavour
I like this book and used it for several recipes when we decided to cook Brazilian for new year. All the recipes we did were great but I can't give this 5 stars as the recipe proportions were way off. For example the black bean and bacon soup would serve 1.5 people so times by 3 at least. The breaded chicken recipe left me with 5 times as much breadcrumb mix as I needed. So a bit of trial and error needed to get the proportions right. I'd still recommend the book, just trust your judegement more than the measurements.
