Sony external DVD RW
It works, however you have to use an external power source which doesn't make it very portable.

Sony DRX S70U DVDRW
Purchased this item for my VAIO netbook. Picture looks good but does not advise that it has a seperate Power Supply for it. Too many wires!
Another valid point is that if you are viewing any DVD with differnt regions, this DVD Drive burns the region code that's on the 5th disc! Well done Sony
It's not good for the traveller as you will need another mains adaptor/convertor

Excellent DVD MULTI RECORDER
I purchased this DVD/RW Multi recorder to go with my new SONY portable laptop which does NOT have a built in CD drives.

THIS USB DVD/RW works great, however it does need to be connected to mains outlet to be used.

Ideal if you want to install softwares to notebooks, and laptops/ OR to watch films.

It is not completely portable, as it does need mains power outlet.

To see the incredible portable SONY laptop, that i purchased with this USB DVD MULTI RECORDER.
These great laptops are in good affordable prices and is available in 3 colours :- Brown, White, and PINK.

Finally just to let you know if you intend to buy this laptop, it does have pre installed WINDVD/Moviemaker softwares.
