Manufacturer's Description
The Airbus series of short-to-medium range airliners, derived from the classic A320, have made their mark on the airways of the world. The A318, A319, A320 and A321 are operated by airlines across the globe and now the development team at feelThere/Wilco Publishing has accurately re-created these popular aircraft for Flight Simulator X and 2004.
These fly-by-wire favourites, from the compact A318 to the spacious A321, have joined the Pilot In Command series, which guarantees the highest levels of accuracy from flight model and avionics to liveries and interiors. With different engine options, three levels of complexity and 39 detailed liveries, the Airbus Series is a clear choice for every virtual operator!

Not what I expected
Well, this is an interesting game. After having played on the Wilco 737 PIC game, my hopes were set very high on this one, and yes, after smooth installation I was very excited when I saw just how realistic it looked. The manual gave me a clear tutorial on my first flight, unlike the manual for the 737 which was patronising beyond beleif. Unfortunately, this amazement did not last long; Wilco have sneekily taken sounds from their previous games, as well as sounds from the default planes (which are bad!) and turned them into a collage for this game. I had a few other issues as well: When selecting VOR mode on the map funtion controlls, the game immediately crashes to the desktop. When you leave a flight, the game crashes to the desktop (in fs9). For some strange reason the 2D panel consists of 2 seperate panels, so you have to press shift 1 and 2 at the same time, and other times the panel won't properly display at all. The manual claims that on expert mode, "correct procedures must be carried out in order to operate the plane properly", yet for some reason you can still do Ctrl+E to start the engines. Not many features are functioned i.e fire suppression, or certain "capped" switches on the overhead panel, even though the manual claims that you can indeed operate these switches. The clicking noise of the throttles doesn't sound like they do in real life, it's just really annoying. The supposedly unique GPWS callouts are just the defualt boeing callouts, very dissapointing.
In conclusion, this game claims its much more that it actually is. I won't deny that this is a good add-on, it is fun to play on, plus it is very frame-rate friendly, and it does portray (asthetically atleast) the glory of the airbus flight deck.

I too had high expectation and have many hours in the 737 PIC.
I bought both Airbus series volumes 1 and 2. First appearances were dissapointing, looks, textures etc, but in time you do get used to it. This is, or was an enjoyable series, but it doesn't last long, as there are so many CDTs - Crash to Desktop with both volume 1 and 2. I've many add on aircraft and ther are no CDTs with any of them.
Change view, crash, press a button, crash etc. Infact, so much as look at it and it will crash, so much as even contemplate switching on your pc for a flight in any Airbus and it's secretly getting ready to crash, laughing endlessly at your fast dissapearing hope and joy.
Wilco Support and the Wilco support forums are as much use as an ashtray on a motorbike and once you post the fact that you have an issue that Wilco or anybody cannot explain - for fear of exposure and showing them up when all one asks is why in the hope of a resolution, are as friendly as a lion who's rather hungry and takes a keen interest into what it actually is that you taste like.
So, this review is short because my flying experience with the Airbus is short. I'm looking forward to the Air Simmer Airbus as I'm keen to get on board again.
Not the best, but still worth it.
Aibus aircraft are not well covered (unlike boeing) by FS developers and the Airbus series volume 1 is of a small number of airbus add ons for FS. I think the add on is easily PIC rated however the overhead lacks functionality. I would award 7/10. A good effort but could do with some inprovements.
