Customer Reviews

Had to finish it5
When you have several top authors all with new books out in the space
of 4 weeks,it is very easy to put a so, so, book down, and start on a
bestseller.Like Martina or Minette, l hope you can understand what l mean?
If this book was not up to Mr James high standards, l would have let
it slip the net,and got my teeth into the other books. But l couldn't.
I had to read it all. I am slowly working my way through all of
Mr Jame's book,(not the Dead series, as l 've read all of those)
and every one, amazes me, with the knowledge and detail he has
gone into to get the subject matter right. The medical knowledge
shown in this book, would make you think he really was a Dr.
Clever is an understatement, he kept me turning page after page.
The hatred Thomas Lamark has for psychiatrist Michael is unbound. He
wants revenge so much, and he is relishing every moment he meets
him, knowing he knows something Michael the psychiatrist doesn't.
He strives for the ugliest of revenges possible, and stops at
nothing or nobody to get it.To create this scenero in your
mind is stunning alone. If this can keep me away from
Martina Cole,it has to be brilliant, and it was.

UNDENIABLY GOOD5
Peter James has to be one of the best british writers around today. His style is unique and he produces one fine novel after another. Denial is no exception with beautifully observed characters. Thomas Lamark has to be one of the most three dimensional madmen who despite his insanity still manages to be believeable and Peter James allows us to understand the thought process of Lamark. Similarily all other characters are well developed.
Such development in the hands of someone less skilled can very easily slow the book down but not in this case.
No doubt the short chapters are very effective. I found myself saying just one more chapter of three pages on numerous occasions only to realise that I had in fact I had read 50 or 60 pages in this mode.
Hints of Sunset Boulevard , Silence of the Lambs and Phsyco but in my opinion better than all of these.
Great Book

WOW!5
I have read all of this incredible writers books. He never ceases to amaze me, although I have to say this book was more gulp-making than any other! Very graphic in places, a bit too gory in others but - for all that - I could NOT put it down. In the car, at work, in the bath I read it whenever and wherever I could. EXCELLENT!
