For this price, you really don't complain
As a recent beard grower I wasn't convinced I even needed a beard trimmer, and had been soldiering on for a couple of months with a big set of hair clippers. I decided at this price I really couldn't lose and I have to say I've been really impressed. This is a solid-feeling trimmer with the usual complete range of attachments which seem to cover all the possible beard-bases, although the instructions for use leave a little to be desired. Also, whatever you do don't remove the clipper head to clean thoroughly - the instructions may command it, but you'll be chasing little screws, springs and levers around the room and desperately trying to jam them back into the right places. Now I've learned not to repeat that mistake, I'm more than happy.

I originally purchased one of these for my partner and he thought it was terrific. I then purchased another for my son (large hairy teenager) and he found it very easy to operate. Suffice to say they were both very impressed. Yes, the instructions are practically illegible but I have yet to meet a man who reads these anyway! Three very happy customers.

Third-world quality
Alas, with this product the negatives outweigh the positives by a long, long way.

The case is low quality with minor deformations. The gloss finish is slippy to hold and a poor shape to get a good grip of. The documentation requires 20/20 vision and a magnifying glass and the stand is impractical and unstable. A pouch would be far more useful.

Plastic trimming guide quality is particularly low and comparible to Airfix plastic self-assembly parts. They are fiddly, awkward and anything but childs play to fit and remove. It is difficult to assess just how much handling they will survive.

Maybe you simply get "what you pay for" with this product but in the 2009 world econommic melt-down has quality gone just that little bit too far downhill so as to make it unacceptable.

The trimmer actually worked quite well when ready for use but as a package it is a device which is relying on its trade name rather than quality. I would suggest spending a few pounds more and buying a product which has less third-world quality.
