Philips Satinelle Soft HP6408/03 Massaging Epilator - Pink

No stranger to epilation, I bought this after my old Philips epilator sadly broke after five years and I needed to find a decent replacement. At first I tried the Braun Silk-épil Xelle 5170 out of curiosity, to see if technology had improved since my first purchase. With 40-tweezer technology, apparently it had, and my legs were left impressively smooth for a long time after. But used on my underarms, the Braun was a nightmare - so painful and vicious that I ended up bleeding and unable to use deoderant for a week.

So that got returned for a refund and I switched allegiance back to Philips! While the HP6408/03 does not catch every small hair on your legs as the Braun did, the metal tweezers make for more comfortable use on underarms and bikini line; definitely less aggressive and softer action. I did consider opting for a Philips model with the newer ceramic tweezers which promised 'more efficiency', but didn't want a repeat of the Braun mistake... The efficiency cap helps cover area on your legs well, and the one for underarms/bikini line is also useful, as the cap with the massage bar would otherwise get in the way.

Overall this product is reliable, quite comfortable and does the job it's supposed to at a very good price!

Epilator
This product is wonderful, I used an epilator a few years ago, and it was agony, but this epilator is fairly pain free. Normally I cannot wax or epilate my underarms as it is so painfull, but it is not too bad with this epilator, and it lasts ,usually only do every 10 days. Normally I wax my legs, but this is a lot quicker and less messy.It has covers you can use for delicate areas, and two speeds. I would highly recommend and my friends have all tried it and agree,and have now got their own. The heads wash easily too. Very good value, not too expensive.

gets too hot
Ive had this epilator now for about six months and couldnt work out why one of my legs or armpits always seems to hurt more afterwards until this morning! Its because it burns my skin! After epilating just my armpit area, the metal discs get that hot that they burn my skin and leave me with big red patches! i would not recommend this product to anyone now i have discovered this, i am going to invest in a wet and dry one myself.
