Inspired decision to film it in black and white which only adds to the gothic effect. Mel Brooks is a genius at setting up a patently obvious gag and then still getting the laugh.

This should NOT have worked. It pitts two wildly diverse talents together in an improbable setting. It DOES work, brilliantly assisted by the much underrated Glenn Headley.

Chevvy Chase is brilliant as the suave pro in an elite club full of the most pompous people you're ever likely to meet. You'll recognise quite a few caricatures here.

Another hilarious spoof featuring the king of the genre Lloyd Bridges and the gifted Charlie Sheen. This time, it's "Top Gun" getting it with both barrels.

Arnie and Danny, identical twins??? This is a hilarious buddy movie which if it wasn't already brilliant, would be worth it alone for the look on Arnie's face when he loses his virginity.

The other Sheen boy gets his chance in this send-up of Lethal Weapon. You can see the gags coming from miles away but you just sit there and let them wash over you and still laugh after the 20th time.
