Product Description

This Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game is based on the CG animated movie produced by Imagi Animation Studios and based on Mirage Studios' Foot Clan-kicking Turtle heroes. The game takes place in a New York City plagued by secretive villains and strange, otherworldly creatures. Faced with these perils, the Turtles will experience their most trying time as heroes and as a family, as Raphael, Donatello and Michelangelo lose their focus and struggle to maintain their unity and ninja discipline. It's up to Leonardo and the faithful father figure Splinter to reunite the band of brothers and save New York City from a monstrous evil that lurks around every corner. Players engage in over-the-top acrobatic navigation, collaborative combat and powerful fighting moves.

  • Play as all 4 Turtles characters: Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello and Michelangelo are represented with unique combat skills and acrobatic moves.
  • Relive the CGI movie: The game follows the movie plot and includes all the key environments, characters and enemies.
  • Combat Evolution: Begin the game playing as a single character, then rejoin the family to fight as a team with the option of collaborative, combat moves.
  • Exciting Action Experiences: Acrobatic jumping from rooftops, scaling tall buildings, diving down sewer pipes, pole-vaulting moves, and flying with nun-chuck weapons.
  • Special Video Game Bonuses: Some enemies from the original comic book series will feature as guest stars in the video game!
  • Go Multiplayer on Handhelds: The handheld consoles will feature special Multiplayer features with special gameplays and environments via Wi-Fi or Internet.

Tuuurtle pooowwwerrr!!4
With the up coming TMNT film and being old enough to remember the first game and download it from xbox marketplace, I thought hey get the new game! And I must say for the main part wasn't dissapointed. Graphically it does the job runs very smoothly and plays well, being made by the same people of prince of persia fame it plays very similarly. My only dissapointment was the lack of online or co-op play and difficulty level, you may say that with the latter that this is essentially a kids game, and therefore difficulty is aimed at them-Point taken! (and as such difficulty is about right). The use of "tag" moves works well but would have been a lot better co-op.For the average gamer it will take about 6-7 hrs to complete the main game but then there are time challenges etc to complete, although once the main game has been completed all gamer points have been received and so leaves little point to completing them!

overall an enjoyable and fun game but may be a rent rather than purchase title.

A Blast from the past3
To go with the TMNT movie release Ubisoft have made an excellent game that is aimed at kids but a lot of fun for adults too. As an adult who remembers the original TMNT back in the old days, I had to reminisce with this game and for the most part i wasn't disappointed. I knew from previous reviews that it was aimed at kids but i found it a lot of fun still.

If you're not in the teens then the likelihood is that you'll finish it in a weekend, but it'll be fun. The gameplay is very easy and you initially take the role of each turtle in turn, with the story line of each turtle interweaving. controls are very easy to pick up and there are no difficulty settings. It's designed to be fairly easy and fun. As you play, you collect coins for points and at the end of levels if you have enough coins you can select to 'buy' extras - for example have huge heads, weekend weapons (i won't spoil this as it's really funny to see)etc. You can replay any level once you complete it to try to beat your best time.

it was also really funny to be able to play one of the turtles as a baby!!

Each turtle has a speciality move that can be executed. About half way through the game, you can start doing tag moves where you play one character and you can tag one of the other turtles in for a combined attack.

All in all a very fun game to play but also very short lived. Not one i'd buy unless you have a kid who will want to take their time playing through. i'd rent it. Also a little disappointed there was no online play with others in someway, but i guess understandable.

What a shame3
If you are old like me you might recall a fantastic TMNT arcade game in the 90's where 4 players could each control one of your heroes and battle through endless corridors and streets etc (like Streets of Rage on the megadrive).
The biggest dissappointment here is that this 360 game is single player experience only - although you can change your character instantly by pressing X to take advantage of different skills. Seconly the combat is very basic and the enemies are extremely basic in terms of AI and graphics with little variety in appearance which lets the game down.
You may think this is OK because it's meant to be a kids game. However in between brief fighting sections are long and sometimes very difficult rooftop running/jumping/climbing sections. Your progress is often discouraged by poor camera angles which you can't change. These sections become very tedious. How many times can you leap from one ledge to another or swing off a flag pole before you wish the game would just end. Fortunately in that case it won't take long. I rented the game and completed 14 of 16 missions in approx 6 hours earning over 700 gamer points.
It really is a shame that with next gen console power we are given a single player platform game that could easily belong on a PS2. I was hoping for a lot more.
