Dolby 7.1 Channel Surround Sound
The Ear Force X41 transmitter uses a 150MPS Digital Signal Processor (DSP) to deliver genuine Dolby Digital sound, Dolby Pro Logic IIx, and Dolby Headphone surround sound processing technologies - the industry-standard formats for encoding multi-channel sound in XBOX 360 games and DVD movies. The X41 uses the latest version of Dolby technology to create realistic game sound in 7.1 channels for improved surround sound accuracy.

Dolby Pro Logic IIx and Stereo Enhancer
The X41 transmitter incorporates the latest Dolby Pro Logic IIx decoding system for surround sound realism from Dolby Pro Logic II encoded audio. When used with stereo sources, the Dolby Pro Logic Decoder also enhances the sound by spreading the stereo signal to provide a “wider” effect. This results in a richer, fuller sound than normal stereo - almost as if it originates from outside of the headphones.

2.4GHz Wireless Digital RF Technology
The Ear Force X41 transmits game audio to the headset with an uncompressed wireless digital radio frequency (RF) signal to deliver CD-quality sound that rivals professional-grade wired headphones. Chat Boost Dynamic Talkback Expander
If you’ve ever had trouble hearing teammates on XBOX LIVE when the game action heats up, then you know how frustrating it can be when you have to keep adjusting the chat volume. Chat Boost fixes this problem by automatically adjusting the XBOX Live chat level when the game gets louder, so chat from teammates isn't lost in the exciting parts of your game. As the game sound gets louder, Chat Boost turns up the chat volume automatically so you can still hear what everyone is saying.

Microphone Monitoring
It's hard to hear yourself speak when a headset is covering your ears. The X41 corrects this annoyance with its microphone monitoring feature. The X41 adds a portion of the microphone signal into the headset signal, so you can hear a portion of your voice along with incoming chat and game audio. Microphone monitoring not only prevents you from talking too loud or accidentally yelling into the mic, it also eliminates that annoying "clogged ears" feeling when talking while the headset is covering your ears.

Bass Boost
The X41 headset DSP also lets you turn on a Bass Boost feature that produces deep, rich bass tones by increasing the volume of low frequency sounds - just like turning up the volume on the sub-woofer on your home theater system. Bass Boost improves your gaming experience by kicking-up the sound level of explosions, gun shots and other deep-bass sound effects, making them even more dramatic.

Wired Headphone Connection
The X41 transmitter includes a headphone output jack with volume control to connect an optional pair of wired headphones in addition to the wireless X41 headset. This jack outputs the same high-quality Dolby Headphone 7.1 surround sound that’s being transmitted to the wireless X41 headset, which allows two people to hear the game sound at the same time.

Independent Chat/Game Volumes

Advanced Battery Booster Circuitry

Amazing sound but ......
Had these for 2 weeks now and never had any problem with the batteries or overheating and i use them for at least 4-5 hours a night gaming or watching films.....Ok the sound from the headset is amazing you can hear every detail in the game sound and unlike my X1s you can tell the direction of the sounds ie hearing exactly where the other team are.The only down side to them is the xbox live chat is very crackly some times i dont know if its becaues there wireless or if its something else interfering with them,it is only the chat because the game sound is crystal clear.If you have more to spend then the astro a40 would be worth a look at but they are wired.As for the previous review i have never had a problem with the batteries i use energizer rechargable ones i can only imagine he has no luck and has had two faulty headsets.

gonna need a more batterys
First of all lets talk about the sound.

Amazing, if you dont have the room for a 7.1 setup or like playing at night then these are fantastic for sound quality, there is a minor hiss constantly but its not noticable at all if there is any music or sound from your game. The headset is basicly made for FPS such as CoD and L4D but i was playing Lost Odyssey and it sounded gorgeous! cant wait till Final Fantasy to see what it sounds like!

Now the one bad side, im not sure if im REALLY unlucky and ether have had 2 faulty x41's, or i have been consistantly buying faulty batterys, but they will last 1 hour, tops, then it seems like the headset overheats the batterys and it shuts off, you then need to wait at least 30 mins before the headset will even turn on again. Like i said i have had 2 of these, i returned my first one because i thought this was a fault with my one, but the second one seems to do exactly the same, and ive been using good batterys so it cant really be that.

over all if you can deal with only having wonderful sound for 1 hour then these are perfect, but if your a hardcoreish gamer who can sit for hours then i would advise to look elsewhere.

My wife purchased these for me on christmas and have to say they are simply AMAZING!!!
Batteries.... i just can't understand why people have marked these down on batteries my wife purchased me rechargable ones cos she knew they took 2AAA so i never need to buy anymore ITS NOT ROCKET SCIENCE!
Sond popping and distortion...... The only time i have had a poping is when i have been in the pregame lobby and run upstairs to the toilet before the game started never during a game, but hey come on your'e gonna get the odd connection issue when your'e running around the house weather it be your headphones your laptop or any other wireles device GET A CHUFFIN GRIP COMPLAINERS!. I have a facebook mad wife on her laptop and both boys also have their own laptops all running wireless and only now and again will i get a little distortion and i do mean every now and again and only when ALL 3 are up and running but hey even the laptops get the odd lag due to all the wifi signals running around our house!
Now ive got all the so called gripes these COMPLAINERS have out of the way i have to tell you these really do change the entire way you play especially if your'e a call of duty nut like me. Now not only do i play the the game i FEEL IT as im totally submerged in everything thats going off around me its FANTASTIC! The sound these reproduced is simply breathtaking i could hear car horns beeping and birds chirping in FAVELA on MW2, its just simple little things like that that you notice because ive never heard them before. You can hear people running underneath you or behind you on some of the maps so this really is beneficial when you want to great them with a bullet between the eyes before they stick one in ya back ;0).. I really can't praise these enough and i now know i could never go back to playing games without a pair of these especially when you call a chopper in and its flying around your head or your'e in your chopper gunner its just out of this world. The wife is already starting to regret buying me my best ever christmas present cos i'm on it more now than i ever was..... YUP another XBOX WIDOW! ;0)
