LCD WXGA display, 1366 x 768p
This WXGA display with state-of-the-art LCD screen technology gives you widescreen HD resolution of 1366 x 768p pixels. It produces brilliant flicker-free progressive scan pictures with optimum brightness and superb colours. This vibrant and sharp image will provide you with an enhanced viewing experience.

HD ready is a protected label that offers picture quality beyond that of progressive scan. It conforms to strict standards laid out by EICTA to offer an HD screen that displays the benefits of resolution and picture quality of a High Definition TV signal. It has a universal connection for both analogue YPbPr and uncompressed Digital connection of DVI or HDMI, supporting HDCP. It can display 720p, and 1080i signals at 50 and 60Hz.

Crystal Clear
The high-definition (HD tuner not included) ready, 1,366 x 768 WXGA LCD panel uses the latest panel technology, such as Philips' proprietary Crystal Clear package of innovations featuring a 2D digital comb filter (eliminates dot crawl and colour bleeding, enhancing fine detail, cleaning up image outlines, and removing most extraneous colours), Dynamic Contrast for deep blacks and pure whites, and green and blue colour enhancement. The high 450:1 contrast ratio gives you better subtle colour details and the ability to see the picture in bright light conditions, and the 16-millisecond response time means it's capable of handling fast-moving action without image blur or lag.
Virtual dolby surround
Virtual Dolby Surround is a processing technology for enhancing surround sound effects. Built-in flat speakers (5 watts per channel) sit on either side of the LCD WXGA Active Matrix TFT screen, giving you full stereo sound without needing to connect to an external speaker system. Virtual Dolby Surround sound support simulates cinema surround sound effects without the need for rear speakers. Philips' Smart Listening auto volume leveling eliminates drastic volume spikes while changing channels or when channels go to a commercial break.
Large Viewing Angle
Other features include 140-degree horizontal and 125-degree vertical viewing angles, 100 preset channels, Autostore for easy tuning, Auto Picture (five modes give you picture settings for different types of programming), Auto Sound (four modes to tailor the TV sound to enhance what you're watching), multi-language onscreen display, sleep timer, integrated tuner and RF jack for terrestrial reception, ergonomic remote control, and an anti-reflective screen.
Smart Picture & Smart Sound
Philips preset modes for Smart Picture and Smart Sound provide you with direct access via a single key on the remote control. You can select optimised picture and sound settings for the various picture modes such as Eco, Natural, Rich, Multimedia and Personal, and sound modes such as Movie, Voice, Music and Personal.
DVI-I input
A DVI-I input connects the non-compressed highbandwidth digital RGB signal from source to screen. By eliminating the conversion of the digital signals to analogue, it delivers an unblemished and noise-free image, that is clear and flicker-free. The DVI input supports HDCP copy protection that allows viewing of copy protected programs from Digital Set-top boxes, DVD players and HD recorders. DVI-I is future proof as it can be be connected to all HDMI devices (a converter cable is required). The DVI-I input also supports analog PC-VGA signals.

Want to do more than just watch TV? The 23PF4321/01 has a rear SCART socket, and a component input that helps minimize digital and line-scan artifacts during DVD playback. And, because the TV is progressive scan, it can take advantage of the more film-like images produced by progressive-scan DVD players. It has a VGA input too, which receives the signal from your PC so you can use it as a TV and a PC monitor. A set of side jacks has a composite A/V input with S-video, a mini headphone jack, and an audio in for using the TV's speakers with your PC.

Excellent TV at a great price
I was searching for a class 23" TV and narrowed it down to Philips on a friend's recommendation. I ordered it from Amazon on the Sunday afternoon and it was delivered on the Tuesday morning. I love the thing - I a keen watcher of sport, particularly golf, footie and F1 and it hits the spot without dominating the room.
Snap this up - a great price and spot-on delivery.
Superb Product and Service
This Tv is great. Bought it for my bedroom to use as a tv and pc monitor.
Was originally looking for a 26" but saw this widescreen 23" and thought that it would be better. I was so right. The sound out of this tv is of a better standard that my lcd tv in my living room that I paid £800 for. Has different settings for sound such as theatre, voice and music. Has diiferent ratio settings aswell which are very useful for movies. The picture is great for the price.
I would recommend this to anyone who wants to watch movies with quality.
And being a £120 cheaper than the rrp is a great bonus.
Don't miss out on this great tv!!!
It's HUGE!
I bought this TV based on good reviews read here on Amazon for this size and its bigger brother. The picture is great and my Wii looks great on it too. Its great value also, similar ones from other brands seem to be £150 - £250 more expensive.
It could be that I'm used to a 14" little square TV in my bedroom but this is much bigger than I imagined it could be because the speakers are on the side, just something to bear in mind if you have a fairly small space!
