Customer Reviews
Good in its day?
Although the date listed for publication is 2000 this is the reprint date and be warned that this book was written in 1963. The book is in paperback format, is extrememly text-heavy, with few illustrations (in b/w only) and all hopelessly dated to the 60's. Whilst a historian of art looking into the contemporary techniques and equipment brands of 1963 will find this fascinating, sadly for me in the light of presumambly an endless supply of contemporary books from 2007/8 etc this book is a museum piece. Hopelessly outdated, visually dull, dry as tinderwood. Needless to say there is not one mention of the computer revolution! I have no idea how it has survived in print. Unless you're a historian, avoid it.
History - No use to todays printmakers
Unless you are interested in history - don't bother with this book. Silk Screen has moved on dramatically since this was first published in 1963 and it has not been updated.
