The Art of Turned Bowles
In this book Richard Raffan covers the design and shape of bowls. He looks at coloring, burning and sandblasting as well as carved and pierced finishes.
This is not a "how to turn a bowl" book but how the shape should be considered. Although he does have some practical advise on choosing and preparing wood for turning
See his book "Turning Bowls" for a guide on how to turn bowls, but do not miss this one for the design factor.
