Ways of Reading
This book looked ideal, however, the way it is structured makes it inconvenient to follow, and it seems to me that it is incomplete. Did the authors get fed up with it half way through?
For instance, there are clearly set out Units and subject headings, but when you read into the subject the text refers you to another subject heading in another unit - which refers you to another subject heading in another unit.... By the time you have ploughed through all the cross referencing you've forgotten what it was you were reading about in the first place!
Also, there are activities to complete at the end of each unit: great for testing that you have understood what you have read, unless of course the 'Appendix: notes on activities' only provides answers to Unit 1 and Unit 3. What about the rest?
