Customer Reviews
Because truth is stranger than fiction
This is one of the most gripping books I have ever read. The fact that it is based on a true story makes it even more amazing. The author does not try to exuse or explain his behaviour - although any reader with intelligence could draw their own conclusions about why he turned out the way he did. This book will make you rethink your views on the "real" homeless that exist in this country. If people want a predictable read with a hollywood ending - dont buy this book.
not so good
I am astounded at the 5 star reviews given to such a trashy and self indulgent piece of writing. This book depressed me so much, not from its harrowing portrayal of drug addiction, but the far less noble affliction of such awful storytelling. Read Trainspotting instead - this might be fiction but it is much more authentic.
amazing
This book is fantastic, who cares if he may have exagerated some of the parts of the book. the fact is that he has lived an amazing life and is trying to warn people away from the dangers of drugs.
rumour has it that it will be turned into a hollywood film, and if any story deserves it its this one.
