The incredible story of Phil Sparrowhawk, a working-class boy with gambling in his blood. Like most punters, he enjoyed an incredible run of luck, but finally rolled the dice once too often. The winning streak came to an end when the US Drug Enforcement Agency closed in.

Forrest Gump of drug dealing
Extraordinary tale of a working-class boy and his inexorable and almost accidental rise to the peaks of his chosen career - the movement of beneficial herbs. You couldn't make this stuff up although if it wasn't for a wealth of supporting evidence you'd think it was. Unlike many other drug and foreign prison books Grass is not hard-going, heavy or sentimental. It's a riveting good read and a lot of fun illuminated by cameo appearances from among others: Mother Theresa, Manual Noreiga, Jimmy Carter, PJ Proby, Howard Marks,Lord Moynihan, Ronald Milhench and Nijinsky.
Grass
This is a story of a young man looking for a challange. This search brings him into contact with the legend that is Howard Marks. Phil fall's for Howards charm, like so many before him, and fancies a piece of this adventurous jet set lifestyle. The difference with Phil is he has nowse. A natural business man, he's soon compeating with Howard in the kingpin world of cannibis smuggling. The ups and downs of his life take you on a roller coaster ride with only one conclusion, you grow to like this supposide criminal, just try not to. The number of times Phil bounces back from complete ruin to get back on top of his game fills you with admiration for his resolve and the way he deals with his eventual inncarsaration shows great dignity from this Epsom lad. Grass is hugely entertaining book full of humour, all in all an enthralling read!
The book Grass
Overall a good read, and a good follow up to the book Mr NIce by Howard Marks.
