Lose me, I'll be okay - I've seen Ray Mears on the telly.
In this series, Ray Mears shows us various techniques used by bush people from all over the world.

The technical aspects of how things are done are perfectly portrayed. He works with the bushmen, and often shows them how others achieve the same task.

His aim is to keep alive traditional ways of doing things, ways which are under threat as modern techniques are adopted. He explains how these age-old methods are important to remember in order to keep alive the cultural history of the people involved. Often these methods are already being forgotten and Ray himself shows them how they used to do things.

He gets really involved with the people, you can see that he genuinely cares for them and respects their way of life. This show shows that no matter how different man can be - we are all united through basic behaviour and a sense of humour.

He points out that tribal people from different parts of the world are united by their methods, even though they can vary - they often employ the same principles. You can see the people he stays with swell with pride as he communicates how fantastic and exciting their techniques are.

Watch Ray Mears as he shows how the natural world can be used to keep alive the living history of these threatened cultures. After watching this I sometimes wish I could get lost in the tundra somewhere with nothing but a machete and a mosquito net!

As always Ray's inspiring words make you want to pack up and move to some remote location there and then!

There just seems to be no limits to this guys bushcraft knowledge, I don't know how such a young man can achieve so much!

This title; as with all of Ray's titles, are watchable time and time again. If you enjoy bushcraft, survival or just like nature then you'll love this. I just can't get enough of this guy, living in the city these titles just inspire me to get out there and start enjoying this great world in which we live. It's just too easy to sit in and do next to nothing.

Bushcraft Rocks!
The most appealing thing about this series is the level of enthusiasm which Ray Mears seems to have about everything he talks about. When it comes to informative TV, there is no substitute to hearing someone who knows their stuff. We are beseiged on TV with brain-dead morons invented before our very eyes on ghastly reality shows from all angles - to find someone both enthusiastic and engaging about his subject is a real treat. Being out in the wilderness is great fun if you're nice and warm indoors I always find!!
