The best rally game ever.5
In WRC 04, we have certainly the best rally game on the current consoles, a good country mile ahead of its rivals.

Graphically, it is up there with GT4 (but with more emphasis on landscape and effects than just the car). But the key to this one is the fine balance of the driving experience.

Players of Richard Burns Rally will find the same techniques they learned for that game apply here, but those who found it too tough will be able to get more into WRC 04. Initially it seems hard but once you get into it and learn how to drive the cars with rally technique it is very rewarding.

There's enough sim stuff to give it depth (they're using a full simulation model this time), but it's presented in an easy-to-use way, not overbearing with detail. You can drive it intuitively, and the further you get along the learning curve, the more fun you have. And as you play, you open up all the tracks from the different rallies, following the 2004 WRC season. Then there are the cars. All the current WRC works cars are modelled, each slightly different to drive. There's also front-wheel drive Junior WRC cars - easier but still a lot of fun. There's production cars, and also extreme cars like last year - but this year they're great to drive, wild but controllable.

I'd say in rally games, there's three classics: Sega Rally (the original), Colin McRae 2, and now WRC 04.

And it's online too, with up to 16 players!

what happened to Colin McRae 5 ?5
Well, I've been a purchaser of the Mcrae game for the last 3 years and was stunned at how bad 05 was....in fact in terms of driveability I think it's gone backwards......exchanged the game for WRC 4 ( my first purchase of a WRC title ever) and am pleased to say that it was a decision well made.

brilliant4
this game is heaps better than the last one. there is the pro driver challenge mode, three championships and tons of unlocks to get. Rather than unlocking a certain item for achieving something you get points to spend on unlocks of your choice.

The handling is awesome, good set-up options that are easy to do, realistic damage and servicing and brilliant graphics. If you are going to get a rallying game get this one.
