Video Description
It was brutal and sometimes bloody - it was exhilarating, emotional and often controversial, it was the Great Britain Rugby League Lions Down Under and this is the real behind the scenes story of one of the most remarkable sports tours on record.
Warriors Down Under is the hard-hitting follow up to the acclaimed League of Their Own, but this time it really is access all areas, providing the most intense and powerful insight into the make up of these extraordinary men.
Coached again by Wigan Warriors Brian Noble and led by Leeds Rhinos' Jamie Peacock, the Lions faced four tests in as many weeks against the two best sides in the world, Australia and New Zealand. The 2006 Tri-Nations series proved to be the ultimate examination of their courage and character.
Bruised and battered on the pitch and hounded by a hostile media off it, the Lions astounded their critics to beat the Aussies on a glorious night in Sydney. Then St Helens star Sean Long shocked the sport by quitting the tour as his side faced one final make or break game.
Warriors Down Under is the stunning, uncompromising but riveting account of rugby league's ultimate challenge. Blood, sweat and tears - No-one has got this close to the sport before.

BLOODY & BRUTAL
I bought last years first battle down under DVD which was excellent. With this one, of the Lions 2006 Tri-Nations Tour, there's a lot more behind the scenes footage & access to the whole team. The team become more united & you can sense their hatred for both the Aussie press & both NZ & Aussie teams as the tour progress'. A Bloody / Brutal & totally absorbing look at this controversial tour.
Compelling
This is a fly-on-the wall look at the British Lions during the Tri-Nations tour. It's absolutely compelling, and if you don't come away full of admiration for the 100% commitment of these guys and the way they put themselves on the line, then you haven't got a soul. If you like RL, then this has to be a must.
Rather be in Blackpool than Bondai !!!
Having bought the previous Dvd which I thought was great, I was not disappointed with this one. The passion, sweat, blood and tears is there for all to see.
This is a great behind the scenes dvd watching the lads live and breathe rugby league. Jamie Peacock is not the most articulate of people, but this doesn't matter. This guy is outstanding and if you're going into battle, you want him leading you. He enthuses passion and pride for rugby league and his country. After seeing this DVD, there is no way that the commitment given by these lads was anything but 100%. As well as the 'fight' on the pitch they also had to 'fight' the press everyday. Not easy for these guys who are not used to being hounded and abused by the press. A few life lessons learnt!!!!
This a must for all rugby league fans!!!
