A rare insight into what it is like to have Alzheimers5
This, and 'Dancing With Dementia' are excellent books to give an understanding of what it is like to have Alzheimers from the point of view of the sufferer. The Author retained the ability to use the computer to write long after her speech and handwriting had become frequently garbled. If you or any member of your family have any sort of dementia I strongly recommend this book .. I only wish I had read it before I cared for a person with dementia, I would have had realised that long after she appeared to have 'gone' she was really 'there' and needed meeting in the right way. Most of all these two books give an insight into the ways in which people with dementia are struggling to make sense of their worlds and how their sometimes 'strange' behaviour is perfectly understandable under the circumstances.
